François Bompart

Dr François Bompart

Access Committee Chair, DNDi

François Bompart, MD is the Access Committee Chair of the Drugs for Neglected Diseases initiative (DNDi), a non-profit organisation based in Geneva (Switzerland).

His has worked for over 25 years in anti-infective medicines and vaccines, with a focus on emerging and developing countries. His main fields of interest are related with access to care in resource-limited countries, as well as ethical issues in clinical research for vulnerable populations.

Most of his professional life was spent within the Sanofi group in a variety of positions in anti-infectives and vaccines clinical research and medical affairs in Europe and the USA. In 2005, he joined the Sanofi Access to Medicines department which he directed prior to joining DNDi in 2018 on a pro bono basis, as Head of the Paediatric HIV and Hepatitis C Initiative until end 2020.

François Bompart received his MD from the University of Angers (France) and trained in Clinical Pharmacology at University College London (UK) and Hôpital Cochin in Paris (France).
