Henk den Besten, MSC/MBA is founder of CoachMan Consultancy, based in the Netherlands, serving clients active in international donor funded health projects in low- and middle-income countries.
Henk den Besten started his career working in the not for profit sector, serving IDA Foundation, as Managing Director for close to 25 years. IDA grew to become the world largest private not-for-profit whole operation with focus of supply to Developing Countries During this period. Henk den Besten served for six years as Board Member in Pharmamed/PPL a pharmaceutical production company based in Malta.
After leaving IDA, Henk den Besten founded IPlus Solutions, also based in the Netherlands. During the five years of service Iplus Solutions expanded and gained a strong position in their market, serving numerous major clients including WHO, Unitaid and the Global Fund. During this period Henk den Besten served for five years as co-chair of the PSM working group under RBM.
From 2011 to 2016, Henk den Besten served JSI, as Senior Supply Chain Advisor, under the USAID funded PEPFAR Program.
From 2016 onwards Henk den Besten, under the CoachMan Consultancy umbrella, served various organizations like WHO, PfSCM, Indian pharma companies like Macleods and S Kant based in India, and MEG (the Medical Export Group, an ADS 312 USAID approved wholesaler) based in the Netherlands.
The majority of projects served under Coachman Consultancy were related to access to essential medicines and supplies in predominantly African countries.
