The 61st Congress of the Brazilian Society of Tropical Medicine (Medtrop 2026) will convene under the theme Health in the tropics: an integrative vision from the perspective of the Global South, framing discussions around health challenges specific to tropical regions with an emphasis on South-South collaboration and equitable partnerships with the Global North. The event will bring together researchers, health professionals, managers, civil society representatives, and the private sector to share advances in infectious and parasitic diseases, implementation science, and new health technologies. Medtrop 2026 will also offer professional development opportunities focused on disease prevention and control, including the application of emerging tools in real transmission settings. The congress serves as a key platform for strengthening evidence-based policies and reinforcing the commitment to universal and equitable access to health for populations across the tropical region.
