6th World Congress on Leishmaniasis
The WHO ColIaborating Centre for Leishmaniasis at the Instituto de Salud Carlos III, Madrid and the Drugs for Neglected Diseases initiative, Geneva joined efforts to co-organize the WorldLeish-6 Congress. WorldLeish is the premier congress for leishmaniasis and attracted around 1500 participants including scientific experts and health decision-makers, WHO representatives, and governments representatives from endemic countries, and all major organizations involved in the fight against leishmaniasis. From basic research to vector control and disease elimination, from canine leishmaniasis to neglected patients’ needs, from drug discovery to clinical trials and advocacy: the Congress covered all scientific and policy aspects of leishmaniasis today.
WorldLeish has also partnered with PLOS Journals on a special collection on leishmaniasis to compile publications on the key topics discussed at the Congress. PLOS Blog
