To celebrate our 20th anniversary, DNDi organized a charity run called 'Run for the Neglected Patients' in Kacheliba, West Pokot, Kenya in November 2023. This is where we've been conducting clinical trials and providing treatment for patients with visceral leishmaniasis since 2005. Our aim was to raise awareness about neglected diseases and provide an opportunity for our partners, friends, and supporters to share current advances and gaps in tools for neglected diseases.
The event consisted of three activities:
- A medical camp that screened communities for leishmaniasis, mycetoma, and other conditions
- A 10 km charity run
- A stakeholder event that brought together various partners at the end of the marathon
