Drug Discovery Leader, DNDi

  • Stephane Daffis

Stephane Daffis joined DNDi as Drug Discovery Leader in August 2023. Prior to joining DNDi, he served as a drug discovery leader for 12+ years in R&D pharmaceutical companies including J&J/Janssen (Beerse, Belgium) and Gilead Sciences (San Francisco, USA). He managed various research projects with a focus on the preclinical development of direct antivirals and immunomodulatory therapies (e.g. toll-like receptor agonists and therapeutic vaccines) against chronic viral diseases.

Stephane has a strong expertise in immunology in the context of infectious diseases (Lassa virus, Yellow Fever virus, SARS coronavirus, West Nile virus, Dengue virus, Hepatitis B virus, Hepatitis D virus and HIV).

After graduating from the University of Paris 7 in France, Stephane received his PhD in immuno-virology from the Philipps University in Marburg, Germany and completed his postdoctoral fellowship at the Washington University in St Louis, USA (Mike Diamond’s lab).
