Head of Communications, DNDi
Linet Otieno is an accomplished communications professional, serving as the Head of Communications at DNDi since July 2023. She joined DNDi in May 2015 as the Regional Communication Manager for the Eastern Africa office based in Nairobi.
She has over 17 years’ experience working in international nonprofit organizations in various sectors (health, humanitarian, environment and research). Most of her experience has been spent communicating complex scientific content to nonexperts and supporting scientists to communicate simply with different audiences.
Prior to her tenure at DNDi, Linet led the communication department at Kenya Medical Research Institute Collaboration with the US Centres for Disease Control collaborative project in Kenya. During her time there, she oversaw communication activities, including the development of an audiovisual database, collaboration with radio and television stations to create health and scientific programs, and providing training to staff members on effectively communicating with non-expert audiences.
Linet’s expertise spans a wide range of communication disciplines, including crisis communications, media relations, speech writing, event management, training, strategic communications, public speaking, content collection, and the development of communication tools.
