Member of the French National Institute for Health and Medical Research (INSERM)’s Ethics Committee
François Bompart, MD is a member of the French National Institute for Health and Medical Research (INSERM)’s Ethics Committee. He worked for over 30 years in anti-infective medicines and vaccines, with a focus on emerging and developing countries, mostly within the Sanofi pharmaceutical group. After retiring from Sanofi, he joined DNDi as head of the viral initiative, then as Chair of the DNDi Access Committee. His main fields of interest are related to infectious diseases, access to care in resource-limited countries, as well as ethical issues in clinical research. He is currently the president of the VOLRETHICS Association an international NGO which aims at protecting and empowering healthy volunteers who participate to clinical research. He received his MD from the University of Angers (France) and trained in Clinical Pharmacology at University College London (UK).
