Alexandra Bettencourt

Alexandra Bettencourt joined DNDi in June 2026 as Head of North America

Alexandra brings over 15 years of experience across the UN system, including roles at UN OCHA, UN DESA, UNICEF, and UNHCR. Her work has focused on humanitarian coordination, policy, and institutional governance, with extensive field experience across Africa, Asia, and South America. She has also led major international events and driven innovative approaches to humanitarian response.

Alexandra holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science (with a minor in Theatre Arts) from Boston University, and a Master of Arts in International Relations and Diplomacy from the College of Europe.
