Since 2023, the Global Health Solidarity Project has worked to clarify what solidarity means in practice and how it might be operationalised within global health. Through regional workshops, stakeholders interviews, and cross-regional dialogue, the project has developed a set of principles intended to provide a normative framework for reflection and action.
This open forum will introduce these principles and invite collective reflection on how solidarity could be enacted/strengthened to inform roles, decisions and partnerships within the global health funding ecosystem.
The open forum aims to:
- Introduce solidarity principles developed through the Global Health Solidarity Project’s research and consultations
- Explore practical possibilities on how to leverage the solidarity principles to improve, strengthen and embed core values of solidarity within global health
- Explore institutional barriers to translating the principles into organisational practice
- Gather reflections to inform the development of practical tools for embedding solidarity within the global health funding ecosystem.
