The 36th Annual Scientific Meeting of the Japan Epidemiological Association, held jointly with the IEA Western Pacific Region, aims to advance epidemiological science in the face of increasingly complex global health challenges by fostering international collaboration, embracing diversity and inclusion, and strengthening methodological innovation. Grounded in the theme ‘Epidemiology and global issues: Addressing diversity, complexity, and inclusion’, the meeting seeks to equip epidemiologists to interpret and respond to worldwide health threats—from pandemics and climate‑related events to social and economic inequalities—while promoting the development of robust evidence to inform public health action and policy.
