The Conference of the Parties (COP) is the largest global United Nations event for discussions and negotiations on climate change. Brasil is hosting the 30th Conference of the Parties (COP30).

With a focus on scientific innovation and equity, DNDi aims to bring to COP30 the perspective of the most vulnerable communities and share our commitment to developing sustainable and accessible solutions to the climate crisis and its impacts on health.

Chagas disease: Climate change, the community’s perspective, and challenges in prevention and access to treatment

Organized by Bayer in partnership with Fiocruz and DNDi

The panel discussion aims to promote dialogue between scientists, government actors, communities, and the private sector on the impact of climate change on Chagas disease transmission scenarios. The discussion will also address the role of the community and the challenges in ensuring prevention and access to treatment.

Infectious diseases in a changing climate: Innovation, equity, and engagement of countries and communities

Venue: Health pavilion in the Blue Zone

The panel discussion, promoted by DNDi, CEPI, Gavi, Unitaid, MMV, and Fiocruz, with support from PAHO, aims to discuss recommendations for national authorities and partners to promote sustainable health products, resilient supply chains, and equitable care models. These actions are essential strategies for implementing the Belém Health Action Plan and the WHO Global Action Plan on Climate and Health, strengthening the resilience of health systems in the face of infectious diseases.

Global march for health and climate

Organized by Doctors for Climate (Ar Institute) and Grupo de Trabalho Amazônico (GTA)

The march aims to bring together doctors, nurses, students, organizations, and social movements in Belém to draw attention to the impacts of the climate crisis on health and to call for urgent political commitments. DNDi is participating in the march.

Health Day at COP30

Date: Thursday, 13 November 2025

Venue: Plenária 2, Blue Zone

Representatives from DNDi will closely follow the debates and negotiations at the main COP Summit. The programme includes:

  • 9:00-11:00: The Ministerial Plenary on Health, with the adoption of the Belém Health Action Plan
  • 11:00-12:00: High-level roundtable with announcements on Means of Implementation for Climate and Health
  • 14:00-15:00: High-level session of the Action Agenda on Climate and Health, focused on the implementation and mobilization of climate actions in the health sector
