Leader of the Parasitic Worms Programme, DNDi
Dr Dearie Glory Okwu joined DNDi in December 2025 as Leader of the Parasitic Worms Programme.
Dr Dearie is a medical doctor and a clinical researcher with extensive experience in infectious disease research, clinical trials, and global health programme management. She served as a clinical research physician in Gabon for several years where she led and supported several international multicentre clinical trials on neglected and emerging infectious diseases.
Her expertise spans protocol development, trial oversight, pharmacovigilance, capacity building and regulatory engagement. Dr Dearie has contributed to advancing the development of new antimalarial therapies through her collaborative roles in partnerships with academic institutions, industry sponsors, and public health organizations.
Dr Dearie is passionate about equitable access to medicines, and she is committed to advancing the development of safe, effective, and affordable treatments for neglected diseases through collaborative and evidence-based research.
