Isabel Gutierrez

Isabel Gutierrez joined DNDi in December 2021 as Head of Legal Affairs.

Isabel is a Spanish lawyer with more than 20 years of in-house experience in the private and non-profit sector. She has worked in the pharma, biotech, medical devices, life science, food testing, certification and inspection services, technology, and non-profit sector where she held various senior legal counsel positions. Her areas of expertise include contracts in R&D, clinical research and development, funding, bioanalysis, quality control, regulatory, data protection, intellectual property, and ethical and compliance issues.

More recently, Isabel worked as Senior Legal Counsel for iOnctura SA, Legal Counsel and Legal Service Manager for Wyss Center for Bio and Neuro Engineering. Before that, she worked as International Legal Counsel at SGS Société Générale de Surveillance SA, and Legal Counsel R&D at Merck Serono International SA.

Isabel holds a Law Degree from the Spanish University of Deusto, LLMs in European Law and European Studies from the University Jules Verne (France) and University of Deusto, a Master in European Studies from the Global Studies Institute of Geneva and a Diploma of Advanced Studies in Management of Non-Profit Organizations from the Geneva School of Economics and Management. Isabel speaks English, French, and Italian fluently, in addition to her native Spanish.
