Summary: In 2020, up to one-third or more of people surveyed both globally and in the United States indicated they might refuse the first COVID-19 vaccines when released through emergency use authorization. Ultimately, halting transmission may require at least 70–80% vaccine coverage and so in this commentary, the authors provide a brief primer to assist healthcare providers in correcting a growing body of misinformation surrounding COVID-19 vaccines. It covers areas such as concerns over vaccines being rushed, health freedom, genetic modification of humans, 5 G, implanting microchips, unintended consequences and the use of cell lines derived from fetal abortions during development.
