BBC Documentary on Sleeping Sickness
On 11-12 October 2008, the Survival series on BBC World showcased "The Deadliest Disease. In the heart of Africa, a battle is raging against sleeping sickness." The documentary was filmed earlier this year in the Bandundu province of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) and in close coordination with DNDi. The film primarily focuses on communities suffering from sleeping sickness, and also features Dr Florent Mbo from DRC’s HAT national control programme and Dr Els Torreele as she conducts a site assessment visit for the next clinical study.
