Visceral Leishmaniasis: 11th LEAP meeting takes place in Addis Ababa to Discuss VL Strategy Plan
Over 50 attendees from 9 countries participated in the 11th LEAP (Leishmaniasis East Africa Platform) meeting on 28-29 August 2008 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Representatives from DNDi, LEAP partner countries’ Ministries of Health, Drug Registration Authorities; and invited guests from the Institut Pasteur, MSF, the Institute of One World Health, and the Gates Foundation. The meeting objectives were to discuss strategy for registration of paromomycin, receive updates from study sites, and discuss the LEAP publication policy and the visceral leishmaniasis (VL) strategy plan for LEAP. A training session on informed consent controversies and challenges in the African context was successfully completed. See also: | ||||||||
